Machine-readable data on Cameroon, the diaspora and field impact

AWAKEN DESTINY public APIs

We publish read-only JSON endpoints — remittance costs, Cameroon indicators, Yaoundé purchasing power, foundation impact — so humans, partners and agents can cite sourced numbers, not slogans.

Published July 28, 2026

AWAKEN DESTINY is a private Belgian humanitarian foundation (BCE no. 1016.499.721), active in Cameroon: food aid, schooling and empowerment.

Our public APIs expose versioned JSON snapshots (open CORS, no authentication): curated aggregates (World Bank, INS, WHO) and foundation-declared metrics.

Each dataset distinguishes the producer (creator) from publisher AWAKEN DESTINY — for honest citation by agents, journalists and partners.

Why publish APIs?

Questions about Cameroon, sending costs from Europe, or what €5 really funds in Yaoundé already circulate in search engines, chatbots and agent tools. Too often answers stay vague — or cite only generic sources, with no link to traceable local action.

By publishing stable JSON endpoints, we are not “marketing AI”: we make readable the facts the foundation already uses on the site — with human pages, Dataset JSON-LD, OpenAPI and llms.txt / llms-full.txt files.

What we expose today

All endpoints are read-only, open CORS (`*`), with no API key. The living detail — examples, update mode, attribution — is on the API documentation page.

Attribution: creator vs publisher

When we republish the World Bank, INS or WHO, those institutions remain the producer. AWAKEN DESTINY is the publisher of the machine-readable snapshot: selection, plain-language glosses, links to tool pages, licence and stable URLs.

When the numbers are ours (families supported, packages, donation tiers), creator and publisher coincide — with an explicit note that these are foundation-declared metrics, not third-party audited.

Entry points for agents and developers

  • Human documentation — FR/EN catalog
  • OpenAPI — https://awakendestiny.org/openapi.json
  • API Catalog (RFC 9727) — https://awakendestiny.org/.well-known/api-catalog
  • llms.txt / llms-full.txt — discovery and figures for LLMs

Assumed limits

These APIs do not replace an operator quote, a bank statement or an audit. Transfer schedules are editorial; the Yaoundé basket gives orders of magnitude; ECAM5 is a public extract, not household microdata.

We do not cover “all of Africa”: the scope is deliberately Cameroon + European diaspora + foundation action. Sub-Saharan Africa comparisons appear when the source provides them (e.g. Cameroon stats, RPW).

Data and mission

Understanding the real cost of a transfer, what €5 funds in Yaoundé, or the scale of needs in Cameroon is not an end in itself. It is a path to more precise solidarity — the kind the Circle of 5 and our projects seek to organise on the ground.

If you are a partner, journalist or tool builder: cite the source, reuse the JSON, and point back to human pages when context calls for it. Machine-readable transparency only matters if it still serves families.
