Yaoundé

Centre Region

Since July 2026, our projects share one roof in Nkolmesseng (Mébé-city). Yaoundé is the foundation’s operational heart in Cameroon.

Sewing workshop, soap-making, after-school support, food aid and close follow-up: this is where daily work is coordinated with the local team and the families we accompany.

A plaque, two flags — proof that we are rooted here, not passing through. Every euro of support funds this field work, minus payment fees.

Getting to know Yaoundé

Cameroon’s political capital and seat of the Mfoundi department (Centre Region), Yaoundé — the “city of seven hills” — concentrates government, universities and a dense urban agglomeration, far from rural Cameroon where poverty remains highest.

Nkolmesseng, home to our office, is a popular neighbourhood on the eastern urban fringe. Working here means staying close to urban families: high densities, often informal work, and a cost of living that weighs even when monetary poverty incidence is lower than elsewhere.

According to INS (ECAM5, 2022), Yaoundé is among the areas with the lowest monetary poverty in the country — clearly below the SND30 30.8% target. For a humanitarian foundation, the local challenge is not “national average misery”, but accompanying precarious households in a fast-growing metropolis.
