Act on the ground
Health, education, clean water, and economic development — concrete, measurable actions.
It all began with a conviction shared by Élise and David: no one should remain in the shadows for want of a helping hand. AWAKEN DESTINY is a Belgian private foundation that funds and supports projects carried out in Cameroon by AWAKEN DESTINY, an independent Cameroonian association. Food, water, schooling, empowerment — a non-political foundation, born of a personal commitment before becoming collective.

“Every life touched is a victory for human dignity.”
Private · Non-political
Promote equality and dignity for disadvantaged people — children, widows, orphans, families, and communities.
In Yaoundé, that takes the shape of a secured meal, a school notebook, or a sewing machine that becomes an income. We believe every person carries within them the capacity to change their destiny — our role is to give them the concrete means to do so.
When communities regain control of their lives, they create a better future for themselves and their loved ones. We work closely with local partners to ensure our actions are effective and lasting — for sustainable development, environmental protection, and social justice.
Our support currently focuses on Cameroon in Central Africa, with a much broader ambition: to become a force for positive change across the continent and beyond — the foundation funding, the partner association implementing.
Health, education, clean water, and economic development — concrete, measurable actions.
Local partnerships and collaboration with authorities to ensure effectiveness and sustainability.
A global vision: becoming a force for positive change in Africa and around the world.
One shared conviction, carried by two people: every human being deserves support, listening, and accompaniment toward dignity. The domain awakendestiny.org was registered as early as February 2022 — well before the official creation in 2024.

Vice President
Vice President of the foundation, originally from Cameroon, Élise knows well the realities and challenges facing her country's people. With a Master's degree in Finance & Accounting from Douala and significant experience in social and humanitarian aid, she co-founded AWAKEN DESTINY in 2024 with her husband. Her goal: to provide effective support to people in need—not only in Cameroon, but beyond its borders. She has a particular passion for education.
“Education for the most disadvantaged is a major concern for AWAKEN DESTINY. In this area, our goal is to implement projects that give out-of-school, idle, or disoriented young people the knowledge and skills they need to achieve better economic, social, or cultural integration—and reconnect with the community they come from.”

President
President of AWAKEN DESTINY, David co-founded the foundation with his wife, Élise Ebokolo, in 2024. An ICT expert serving Belgian federal science policy since 2001, he was named Knight of the Order of the Crown by King Philippe in 2025 for his services in that professional capacity. His vision goes beyond immediate aid: he aspires to create lasting solutions, rooted in solidarity and collective action. For him, awakening destinies means reaching out, restoring hope, and planting seeds of change that will bloom for future generations. Convinced that every gesture counts, David believes in the power of unity and sharing. Developing concrete humanitarian projects focused on education, health, and economic development, he works to mobilize partners, volunteers, and builders to build a strong, effective support network.
“Every action taken is a decisive step toward a fairer, more compassionate world. Where injustice and suffering take hold, we see a mission: to bring light and hope to those struggling in the dark.”
“Awaken Destiny”
A name chosen with intention, carrying the promise of a foundation: revealing the potential of those life has left in the shadows.
To awaken
Step out of the shadows and awaken the dormant potential every person carries within.
Destiny
The path to a dignified life that everyone deserves to chart and fulfill through their own strength.
Every life touched is a victory in the quiet fight for human dignity and authentic compassion.
Six convictions at the heart of every action we take on the ground — a foundation that never shifts.
Placing the dignity of every person at the center of everything we do.
The foundation runs largely on the founders' own funds. 100% of donations received are allocated to projects carried out in Cameroon. Only payment fees (Stripe) and bank charges are deducted by providers. Every expense requires supporting proof.
Working with communities, not for them, in lasting partnership.
Measuring lives transformed concretely—not just contributions made.
Giving people the means to rebuild rather than passively assisting.
Believing in people and their capacity to rise again, always.
Dedicated women and men who carry our daily work with communities in Cameroon and beyond. A multidisciplinary team spanning administration, field work, care, empowerment, and support.
