What if five times €5 were enough to act together?

Many want to help — but keep putting it off. The Circle of 5 exists to turn that intention into a steady force within everyone's reach.

These phrases are everywhere — spoken aloud or kept to ourselves: "I'd like to help, but I can't afford to give much." "I donate from time to time, but does it really change anything?"

I know these words. I've thought them myself, more than once. And it's precisely to answer them that we imagined the Circle of 5 — a simple program within almost everyone's reach, designed to last.

When good intentions stay on hold

Most people we meet want to do good. No one wakes up thinking: "Today I'll ignore the world's suffering." And yet, intention often stays suspended.

We tell ourselves our small gesture won't matter. That we'll give "when we have more." That we don't even know where to start. These thoughts protect us — they spare us guilt — but they hold us back too.

At AWAKEN DESTINY, we see every day what waiting means on the ground. In Yaoundé, in our new building in Nkolmesseng, women are learning to sew, children are rediscovering the joy of learning, families count on a steady presence. It's not a one-off emergency that changes a life over time: it's consistency.

The shift: five times five

The Circle of 5 rests on a simple idea: €5 a month. Less than a forgotten coffee. An amount almost anyone can sustain without hardship.

But the real shift isn't the number alone. It's what happens when five people — you and four people close to you — each commit to €5 a month. Family, colleagues, church, old friends: five identical commitments aren't five isolated small gestures. They're €25 a month, predictable, that we can build into our planning on the ground.

Twenty-five euros isn't abstract. It's several weeks of homework support at the Homework School. It's supplies for the soap-making enterprise. It's a real contribution to empowering the women we accompany at the sewing workshop. When support arrives regularly, we can plan instead of improvising — and that's when impact becomes deep.

From "I gave" to "we move forward together"

A one-time gift is a noble gesture. The Circle of 5 is something else: an identity. That of someone who chose not to look away, month after month. And when you mobilize four people in your circle, that "I" becomes a "we" — more motivating, more resilient, more contagious.

That's where the builders program we've just launched comes in. Not to create a race for the biggest donation — everyone brings the same €5, with no hierarchy — but to recognize those who go further in mobilization.

  • Initiator: one complete circle — five active members.
  • Builder: two circles launched.
  • Ambassador: three complete circles — or one circle whose two referrals became initiators in turn.

And an ambassador's impact, in concrete terms? Three circles at €25 each is €75 a month reaching the ground steadily. A sewing machine — the tool that turns training into income for a woman in Yaoundé — costs about €180. In barely three months, an ambassador and their network can fund the equipment that changes a life. Not an abstraction: a woman who goes home with a trade and a way to provide for her family.

This isn't advertising. It isn't an aggressive leaderboard. It's the celebration of kind leadership — the kind that tells your circle: "Join me. We'll do it together, month after month."

What we promise — and what we don't

We're not asking you to become a full-time patron. We're not promising instant miracles. We're offering something more humble and, in our view, more powerful: being part of a quiet community of ordinary people who refuse indifference.

Every Circle member receives regular updates on the impact of their support — stories, progress, concrete results in Cameroon. Not to flatter the ego, but to feed the conviction that yes, this matters.

And if you want to go further? Mobilize four people. Share your personal link — we even provide a ready-to-send message. Often it's a simple, sincere WhatsApp note that makes the difference: "I'm part of the Circle of 5 for AWAKEN DESTINY — want to join my circle?"

Your place might be here

We've only just launched this program. The builders' wall is still empty — the first founding circles haven't yet taken their place. Perhaps that's an invitation for you.

If something in you refuses to get used to injustice, if you're looking for a simple, sustainable way to act without stretching yourself financially, your place might be here.
