Homework School: the desks are in place — children soon
In Nkolmesseng, the Homework School classroom is taking shape: wooden desks are installed, and the first chairs too. A few more are still needed — and soon, children will be able to sit down.

Two weeks ago, I told you about a building taking root in Nkolmesseng. Today I am writing with a photo that filled me with deep joy: the Homework School classroom is no longer a plan on paper — it has desks.
Real wooden desks, sturdy, lined up under the light from the windows. Behind them, the first chairs. Not yet enough to fill every seat — we still need to add more — but already enough to clearly picture what will happen here: children who will sit down, open a notebook, and start believing again that they can make it.
What this photo changes
I am writing to you from Belgium. It is our volunteers on the ground who sent this image — as they send every step, every progress, every concrete little miracle. And this time the message is simple: we are nearly ready to welcome the children.
The Homework School does not replace public school. It complements it. After class, it welcomes those who struggle, those who have dropped out, those who lacked someone to sit beside them and say: "you can do this." In this new building in Mébé-city, they will finally have a space dedicated to them — calm, bright, and caring.
Painted walls. A clean floor. Desks. Chairs. This is not luxury. It is the minimum for a child to feel expected — not abandoned.
A few more chairs — and what comes next
There is still work to do. We still need to complete the furniture, especially the missing chairs. We will soon acquire a blackboard, and we also need to buy all the small supplies — notebooks, pens, rulers, and the rest — to support the children as best we can. Then will come session organization and welcoming the first families from the neighborhood. But the most important thing is already there: a place that says "here, we learn together."
When a child raises their hand again, asks questions again, dreams of a trade again, an entire future reopens. And behind them, a whole family begins to hope again.
